History of International Business Academy of Switzerland
Mr. Martin Nielsen, the owner of IBAS, has been active in the education industry for many years and has been a company owner for 20 years. He owns several schools across the world and is well acquainted with the education sector. Mr. Nielsen has always been an entrepreneur from a young age. By 24, Mr. Martin set-up his first IT and education company. Over the years it has gone international, now spanning four continents and ten countries.
1999
International Business Academy of Switzerland also called IBAS, originated in 1999 when our sister school in Denmark was initially established
2000-2010
During 2000-2010, the Danish school established itself internationally with offices in Denmark, Egypt, and Vietnam
2013
IBAS started in 2013, initially established in the Canton of Zug, Switzerland
2015
IBAS started programs in the Canton of Vaud, together with Language Center partners
2016
IBAS initiated the process to apply for EduQua and ISO certification
IBAS started the first DBA programme, primarily focused on collaboration with Malaysian partners whereby students study part of the programme in Switzerland and part of it in Malaysia
2017
IBAS successfully achieved both EduQua and ISO certification
2018
IBAS started the Zurich campus, teaching full time students in BBA, MBA and DBA
IBAS established the MBA in Hospitality Management program
IBAS purchased a small Guesthouse for student and guest accommodations
2019
IBAS moved from Horgen to the new campus in Thalwil with better facilities
2020
Like many other schools IBAS was forced to temporarily shift to online only education due to COVID-19
IBAS developed an online learning management system “MGW Learning Platform” to assist students with online learning
2022
IBAS achieved ACBSP accreditation for the Master of Business Administration (MBA) and Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) programs
QS Intelligence Unit rated International Business Academy of Switzerland (IBAS) as a Five Stars Institution
2023
IBAS continues to offer online education – Study Any Place @ Any Time
IBAS achieves ISO 29993:2017 Learning services outside formal education service requirements certification
2024
IBAS offers onsite programs in Zurich Switzerland and online programs
