Admission Process for students requiring a Swiss student visa
Prospective student, recruitment staff or campus partner send initial documentation to My Global World Admissions Office for verification:
- Copy of passport
- Copy of certificate/ diploma attained
- Copy of transcript of certificate/diploma attained
- IELTS result or English test equivalent to IELTS or IBAS in-house English test result
- IBAS application with student signature
Admissions Office will make an “Offer Letter” based on student’s qualifications (as well as on agreement with campus partner, if applicable.)
Admissions Office informs the Finance Office to send an invoice for deposit of tuition fees to the prospective student (or via recruitment staff or campus partner).
Admissions Office will send a checklist of required documents to prospective student (or via recruitment staff or campus partner) to provide. After Finance confirms student made payment of deposit amount as stated in the “Offer Letter”.
Admissions Office will send the “Admission Letter” and “Residence Letter” with student ID to student (or via recruitment staff or campus partner). After all required visa documents and tuition fee deposit are received. The “Admission Letter” and “Residence Letter” are required documents for the visa application.
Students must apply for Swiss Student Visa at the Swiss Embassy in their home country. The student must submit all required documents and attend an interview at the Swiss Embassy. Students must show 21,000 CHF to 24,000 CHF in their savings account at one of the Swiss approved banks. All visa required documents must be in English or officially translated in English and notarized.
Admissions Office will arrange an interview between the student and IBAS Chief Operating Officer (COO) to provide support before the visa interview.
Student must inform Admissions Office after they have submitted all the required documents and attended the interview at the Swiss Embassy in their home country.
It takes 2- to 3-months, minimum to receive the Swiss Student Visa result from the Migration Office in Zurich, Switzerland.
Admission Office will follow-up with IBAS Secretary to check on the status of the visa with the Migration Office in Zurich, Switzerland.
If the Migration Office in Zurich, Switzerland needs more information, the Admissions Office and IBAS Secretary will support the student in preparing any needed information and provide a letter to the Migration Office.
When the Migration Office approves the student visa …
Admissions Office will inform the student (or recruitment staff or campus partner) and Finance to issue the student an invoice for 2nd payment.
Admissions Office will issue a new “Admission Letter” once Finance confirms receipt of 2nd tuition payment.
Admissions Office will prepare an arrival plan once the student purchases their plane ticket.
Upon arriving to Zurich, Switzerland, the Registrar will send information of class schedule, training plan, resources (if any), guidelines of Registrar, etc. to student.

Required Documents
Documents for IBAS Application
- Copy of Passport ID page
- High school diploma and transcript (for candidates who apply for Diploma/Bachelor’s programs)
- Official transcripts and degrees of all program you have received academic credit for (for candidates who apply for Master’s/Doctoral programs).
- IELTS or equivalent English Proficiency certificate depending on visa regulations for specific countries.
Documents usually Needed for Visa Application
- Three (3) national visa applications, visa form “D”
- Three (3) photographs no more than 6-months old, 35x45mm, white background, your face, from the top of the head to the bottom of the chin, should measure between 29 to 35mm, sharp focus and clear
- Passport with a minimum validity of 12 months and issued in the past 10 years, original and 2 photocopies
- Proof of sufficient finances: original bank statement or savings book in the Student’s own name (a minimum of CHF 21,000 as required for most countries needing a visa) in an international bank which is recognized/trustworthy in Switzerland **on a case-by-case basis IBAS will allow students to prove their finances at the visa application stage instead of initial IBAS application stage
- Candidate’s latest highest educational certificates
- Acceptance / confirmation / registration letter from the school in Switzerland (IBAS)
- Confirmation of payment of school tuition fees from the school in Switzerland (IBAS)
- Curriculum vitae / résumé
- Motivation letter explaining why the Candidate would like to pursue his/her studies in Switzerland
- Letter to confirm that the Candidate will leave Switzerland after he/she completes the chosen course study
Note: All documents must be officially translated into English and notarized. All documents required to be translated into German and notarized when required by the Swiss Immigration.

BUT please notice that each embassy has their own rules while the canton of Zurich has their own requirements. The canton is the decision power not the embassy. In case of conflict, contact IBAS and we will discuss with the respective embassy.
Documents to be Prepared After Visa Approval for Your Arrival in Switzerland
- Application for residence permit has to be applied 2 weeks before after arrival (fee depends on specific part of the canton)
- Medical insurance (approved by Switzerland) is mandatory. And has to be proven to the canton within 2 weeks of arriving in Switzerland. IBAS will not be responsible for students lack of insurance if the student doesn’t buy the insurance package offered at IBAS
- Photo for residence permit application
- ePhoto for student ID card
Upon completion, students will earn an IBAS Master of Business Administration and in addition an ATHE Level 7 Extended Diploma in Strategic Management for an additional fee of GBP 1,000.
ATHE is a global awarding organisation regulated by Ofqual and other UK and international regulators.
ATHE qualifications are approved as progression pathways to relevant Master’s Top Up degrees by a growing number of UK and international Universities, providing significant tertiary education opportunities for our learners.
Students may opt for a Specialisation by completing 3 additional specialised courses
For an additional fee of CHF 750 for each specialised course.
