Scholarship Categories, Requirements & Conditions

The IBAS Global Access Scholarship Programme is designed to support motivated professionals who demonstrate strong potential but may face financial barriers to postgraduate education.

Applicants should select the scholarship category that best reflects their background and circumstances. Each scholarship has specific evaluation criteria and may include conditions that apply after the scholarship has been awarded.

Leadership / Impact Scholarship

The Leadership / Impact Scholarship recognises professionals who has demonstrated the ability to influence others, drive meaningful initiatives, and create positive change within their organisations or communities. This scholarship is designed for individuals whose leadership potential extends beyond their current role and who are committed to developing their impact through advanced education.

Recipients are recognised as IBAS Leadership Scholars, joining a network of professionals who contribute valuable insights and leadership perspectives to the IBAS community.

The Leadership / Impact Scholarship recognises professionals who demonstrate strong leadership potential or who have created meaningful impact within their organisations or communities.

You may be a strong candidate if you:

• Hold leadership responsibilities within your organisation
• Have led projects, teams, or strategic initiatives
• Have contributed to positive change in your workplace or community
• Demonstrate clear potential for continued leadership and professional growth

In your scholarship statement, you should highlight examples of leadership, initiative, or impact, and explain how your experience and ambitions align with the goals of the programme.

Recipients of the Leadership / Impact Scholarship are recognised as IBAS Leadership Scholars — a group of professionals who bring valuable leadership perspectives to the IBAS community.

Leadership Scholars may be invited to contribute their insights and experience through selected outreach and engagement activities, such as:

• Sharing professional insights or career experiences
• Participating in interviews, thought leadership articles, or student stories
• Contributing to discussions or events that inspire future students
• Offering perspectives on leadership and industry developments

These opportunities allow scholars to share their expertise, expand their professional visibility, and connect with a global network of professionals and future leaders.

Participation in outreach activities forms part of the Leadership / Impact Scholarship experience.

For any public use of a your name, image, or personal statement we will require written consent.

To retain the scholarship, recipients must:

• remain enrolled and in good academic standing
• participate in occasional leadership engagement or outreach activities when invited
• uphold professional conduct within the IBAS academic community

Financial Need

The Financial Need Scholarship is intended to support talented and motivated professionals who may face financial barriers when pursuing postgraduate education. IBAS believes that strong potential and ambition should not be limited by financial circumstances.

This scholarship helps make international postgraduate education more accessible to professionals from diverse economic backgrounds who are ready to invest in their future.

This scholarship is intended for applicants who demonstrate financial circumstances that may make postgraduate education difficult to access.

When assessing financial need, IBAS may consider factors such as:

• Your personal financial situation
• Access to employer sponsorship or other funding
• Economic conditions and cost-of-living in your country or region

In some regions, the cost of postgraduate education represents a significantly greater financial burden relative to average income levels. Applicants from these regions may therefore demonstrate stronger financial need.

In your application, you should clearly explain your financial situation and how the scholarship would help make your studies possible.

Demonstrating financial need does not affect your academic evaluation. IBAS reviews all applications holistically.

The Financial Need Scholarship helps motivated professionals pursue postgraduate education when financial barriers might otherwise prevent them from doing so.

Because the focus of this scholarship is access to education, the award normally remains valid for the full duration of the programme once it has been granted.

To retain the scholarship, recipients must:

• Remain enrolled in the programme for which the scholarship was awarded
• Maintain good academic standing throughout their studies
• Ensure that all financial information provided during the application process is accurate and truthful

If misleading or incorrect financial information is discovered, the scholarship may be withdrawn.

Unlike some other scholarships, there is no specific grade requirement attached to this award, as the scholarship is designed to support access rather than reward academic performance.

Merit Based

The Merit-Based Scholarship is awarded to applicants who have demonstrated strong academic performance or notable professional accomplishments. It recognises individuals who have consistently shown dedication, discipline, and a commitment to excellence in their studies or careers.

This scholarship supports professionals who are motivated to continue building their expertise and advancing their careers through postgraduate education.

The Merit-Based Scholarship recognises applicants who demonstrate strong academic ability or notable professional achievements.

You may be a strong candidate if you:

• Achieved strong academic results in previous studies
• Reached important professional milestones in your career
• Demonstrate a strong commitment to continuous professional development
• Can demonstrate achievements that reflect dedication, initiative, and discipline

In your scholarship statement, you should highlight your academic performance, certifications, career progression, or other measurable accomplishments that show your commitment to excellence.

Recipients of the Merit-Based Scholarship are expected to maintain solid academic progress throughout their studies.

To retain the scholarship, recipients must:

• Maintain satisfactory academic progress during the programme
• Meet the minimum academic standards required by IBAS
• Continue engaging actively with their coursework and assessments

If the required academic standard is not maintained, the scholarship may be reviewed or adjusted.

Because the FlexiLearn format is flexible and self-paced, attendance is not used as a condition. Academic progress and successful completion of coursework are the primary indicators of performance.

Scholarship Application Process

The scholarship application process is straightforward and designed to evaluate each candidate fairly.

In many cases, strong applications may be awarded a scholarship directly after the initial review, without requiring an interview. If additional information is needed, selected applicants may be invited to a short interview before a final decision is made.

Application Deadlines

Scholarship applications are reviewed on a rolling basis. Applicants are encouraged to submit their application as early as possible before their intended intake.

Begin by completing the scholarship application form.

As part of your application, you will need to:

• Select the type of scholarship you wish to apply for
• Submit a short essay explaining why you believe you deserve the scholarship

Your essay should outline your motivation for pursuing the programme, your achievements or professional experience, and how the scholarship would support your educational goals.

Once submitted, your application will move to the review stage.

The IBAS admissions team will review your application and supporting documents. This includes evaluating your academic background, professional experience, motivation, and the strength of your scholarship request.

After the initial review, one of the following outcomes may occur:

Scholarship Awarded – If your application strongly meets the scholarship criteria, you may receive a scholarship offer at this stage.
Interview Invitation – If additional clarification is needed, you may be invited to a scholarship interview.

In some cases, applications may also be declined at this stage if they do not meet the scholarship requirements.

If invited, you will participate in a short interview with the admissions team. The discussion may focus on:

• Your professional background
• Your motivation for the programme
• Your career goals
• Your reasons for requesting the scholarship

The interview helps the admissions team better understand your profile and suitability.

After the interview, IBAS will make a final decision.

At this stage, you may:

Be awarded a scholarship, or
Receive a decision that your application was not successful.

Successful applicants will receive details about their scholarship award and the next steps for enrolment.

Note: Scholarship Eligibility

This scholarship is exclusively available to students who plan to enrol in IBAS online programmes, and who apply and study directly with IBAS.
